Scarlet Splendour

88 secrets, a collection of furniture

A secret is a special thing, meant to be kept, yet intended to be told. How many secrets are there, how many is enough? One for each of the 88 constellations in the sky. Because each paints a picture, tells a story, something timeless and universal, romantic and celebratory. Like the 88 secrets bar and kissing cousin sideboard, whose elegantly playful doors are as compelling as what lies beyond. And there’s something just a little confidentially diabolical about diamantine tables, softly angular emerald carpets and magic chairs. The entire design constellation refracts across the full spectrum of precious stones, all set to make your star shine all the brighter.

Sé’s new extended Stay day seater allows us to take the longer view – on both our emotional and sculptural self – subtly suggests just how dramatically better we might look and feel. It’s the place to make you see and the place to be seen. No easy design task, seeing as the day bed isn’t your typical day-to day utilitarian object, but rather a delicate balance between the cerebral and the emotional.

The Stay dining table, on the other hand, is marvellously simple – a rich marble tabletop carried by a single leg, making it the perfect complement to the Sé dining chairs. Formal elegance and whimsical lucidity personified.

DeCastelli

Consider the credenza, much-loved yet inexplicably misplaced. An assemblage of small, very personal lockers, each with its own key, and each keeping its very own secret, secret desire, just out of reach. An homage of meticulous metalwork dressed in radiant coppers, an intuitive collaborative effort designed to take full marvellous advantage of DeCastelli’s rich range of immaculate metal finishes. Because longing has many names – but all come from the same sacred place. Put it in the safe and lock it.

Crystal is a table lamp, which brings the beauty of the glass to its heighest level, underlining the luminating properties of this classic, sublime, iconic material.

Just like any reflection object, Crystal reflects as well as a mirror, a mask, a memory of a forgotten distant times, a beauty of the future.

Silver Shot for Da Vecchi / Coffee set in silver

Sip and scintillate. Set in traditional silver-plated brass, a silver set that gives rise to divine coffee moments worthy of the name. An intricate double-walled wind and weave, a delicate design dance that spins and spirals like a piece of meticulously handcrafted jewellery. An elegant, finely polished vessel from the master silversmiths at the Milan-based De Vecchi Milano 1935, renowned long and wide for its exceptional craftsmanship and design.

Qeebooo

Ribbons, daisies and cherries are all in full spring Qeebooo bloom, and all ripe for the picking. Deviously daring injection moulded plastic, egalitarian highlighters that exude an evocative yet controlled prettiness. The Ribbon chair comes wrapped up in three colours – discrete black, immaculate white and dust pink. The Cherry Lamp has a special pop refinement to her, a flirtatious figure and plenty of attitude. And the Daisy Lamp’s adjustable petal allows you to stream the light directly on the true object of your affection. Let the love shine in!

Take Me to Miami, New Additions

Tall flamingo standing lamp, small self-standing palm mirror

A life-affirming parade of all brass pieces, a titillating triumph that turns the spirit of endless summer malaise into palpable excitement. The Sunset Mirror comes down off the wall, is now smaller and self-standing no less, a declaration of the true summer paradise scenario. The adjustable, self-standing steel lamp is all about brightening up even the coldest of corners. Misjudgements, misguidance and mishits all disappear under the embrace of the Flamingo’s disarming light. The entire Take Me to Miami collection is an ornamented escapade, one that sets in motion a visceral desire to draw your immaculate nails over exquisitely polished surfaces.
